DESCRIPTION:«Passavant li meillor!»\, il motto che nel Medioevo accompagnava i conti di Champagne\, dà il titolo alla grande mostra che il Département de l’Aube dedica alla storia della regione fra il X secolo e 1361\, quando la contea fu annessa al regno di Francia. In questi quattro secoli la Champagne divenne uno dei principati più potenti d’Europa\, grazie alla posizione strategica lungo le grandi vie commerciali e alla vivacità della sua corte\, centro di vaste relazioni politiche e grande produzione artistica. L’esposizione riunisce quasi 300 opere e documenti\, concessi in prestito da oltre cinquanta istituzioni francesi e internazionali: manoscritti miniati\, vetrate\, sculture\, reliquiari\, oreficerie\, reperti archeologici\, sigilli e monete.
